SREE CAUVERY CELEBRATES NATIONAL UNITY DAY

“Little pools of water tend to become stagnant and useless, but if they are joined together to form a big lake the atmosphere is cooled and there is universal benefit.” -Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas or National Unity Day is celebrated annually on October 31 to celebrate the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He was a freedom fighter and Independent India’s first deputy prime minister and home minister. He was instrumental in making a united India from the 565 semi-autonomous princely states and British-era colonial provinces. The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014.

This day also provides an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country.

The students of Sree Cauvery took the  Rastriya Ekta Diwas pledge from the safety of their homes on 31st October 2020 to pay tribute to this great man .
